Michelle Obama dazzled in her wintry white Jason Wu gown as she accompanied her husband to ten inaugural balls Tuesday night. As it turns out, white has been a recurring choice for incoming first ladies on inauguration night, from Jackie Kennedy to Nancy Reagan to Laura Bush. Even Mary Todd Lincoln opted for a white ball gown in 1861 after Abraham Lincoln was sworn-in (on the same bible Barack used Tuesday). Check out former first ladies in white below:
