There are plenty of heart-stopping moments and fear-inducing scenes in the soon-to-be-released documentary that chronicles Detroit's firefighters and a year spent combating house fires and arson in the Motor City.

One amazing rescue of two dogs from a house fire is sure to warm the hearts of any animal lover.

"BURN: One Year on the Front Lines of the Battle to Save Detroit" is directed by Brenna Sanchez and Tom Putnam, and executive produced by Denis Leary ("Rescue Me"). The documentary was recently shown at this summer's Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.

In this scene from the upcoming film, a young man who has escaped from a house fire asks firefighters if they can save his dogs. Two lifeless pups are carried out by one of the firefighters. When the pet owner is unable to revive his canines, the firefighter removes his own oxygen mask and resuscitates the dying dogs.

The "BURN" documentary's makers are still raising funds in order to finish production and release the film. Find out more about the film here.
