A teenage girl from Arizona has lost her entire family after they were in a fiery car crash outside their own home, ABC 15 reports.
The Swift family, from Buckeye Valley, Ariz., was waiting to turn left into their driveway when a Dodge Durango struck their sedan last Saturday, according to AZ Central. The Swifts' car caught fire, trapping the family inside.
Jerry Swift, 33, Seline Swift, 34, their son, Jerry Jr., 13, and Jerry Sr.'s uncle Roger Keasling, 50, were killed, AZ Central reports. Jerry and Seline's daughter, 16-year-old Tiffany Swift, was not in the car.
The SUV's driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has been released, according to the news outlet. The crash is still under investigation.
The rest of the family is now grappling with the challenge of paying for the funerals. They'll also take Tiffany under their wings.
"She is doing as well as can be expected," Jessie Owens, Jerry Sr.'s cousin, told ABC 15. "We're just trying to support and love her."
Jerry and Seline were high school sweethearts and had been married for 17 years, according to AZ Central. The property they lived on had been home to multiple generations of their family.
Owens told AZ Central the Swifts' kids "meant the world to them." She said Jerry Jr. "was a ray of light when he'd walk into the room," was humorous and "loved everything his dad did," living up to his nickname of "Junior."
