A suspended Broward Sheriff’s deputy's bond has been revoked after he reportedly removed his ankle monitor to visit a strip club.
Deputy Brent Wooddell took his monitor off on Sunday night before hitting up Cheetah Gentlemen's Club in Pompano Beach, did not turn himself in as requested by his release officer, and was arrested Monday night, according to a warrant.
The deputy, once named Employee of the Month, has been on house arrest since September 2011 when he allegedly stole $1,340 after busting an oxycodone dealer who turned out to be an undercover Miami-Dade police officer. Wooddell confiscated $7,340 and pills from the officer during the sting, but after making a detour in his car turned in only $6,000 to his district office as evidence.
Wooddell was charged with official misconduct, grand theft, tampering with physical evidence, falsifying public records, and delivery of steroids. He was suspended without pay and released on $2,000 bond, which a judge revoked on
Prosecutors in the case have previously tried to revoke Wooddell's bond unsuccessfully; first, when he allegedly sent a threatening text message to a witness in the case, and then again when he fled the scene of an accident on his way to the courthouse, according to the Sun Sentinel.
CBS Miami reports Wooddell could face 30 years in prison -- where, according to previous reports about local prisons, he may still be able to enjoy strippers without the hassle of staging an escape.
