WATCH: Man Killed On Bus

A passenger was shot and killed on a Miami-Dade Transit bus Tuesday evening after a fight broke out on board.

Miami-Dade Police say two men fought as their bus traveled near Caribbean Boulevard and South Dixie Highway in Cutler Bay around 9:20 p.m. One of them pulled a gun and opened fire, striking opponent Lamar Callie, 24.

The gunman, who is still at large, then fled alongside frantic passengers as they ran off the bus to safety.

“It was real frightening at times,” passenger Rufus McKenzie, who reported hearing two shots aboard the bus, told CBS Miami. “Very, very frightening...I looked straight ahead, and when it stopped at the light we bailed off.”

Callie was taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center, but did not survive. Passengers who rode on the bus Wednesday morning did not seem alarmed by the shooting.

"I think this is an isolated incident," Olga Machanic told WSVN. "I've been riding this bus for years."
