Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson To Host ABC Reality Cooking Show

Anthony Bourdain Teams Up With Nigella Lawson For ABC Reality Show

Some interesting news out of Anthony Bourdain's camp yesterday: The soon-to-be former host of Travel Channel's "No Reservations" is slated to host a reality cooking show with British food personality Nigella Lawson.

Eater reported and confirmed that the show, produced by ABC, will "pit America's most skilled cooks against one another in a show unlike any other." It's the second move of the sort for the acerbic writer and chef, who recently signed a deal for a travel show with CNN.

If it all seems like a departure for Bourdain, it is; Eater reminds us of a blog post in which he explains that he's planning to take some time off -- his first extended vacation in eight years.

Those worried about Bourdain selling out shouldn't jump to any conclusions -- it appears his future co-host, Lawson, isn't one of those celebrity chefs he loves to hate.

In a 2009 interview with Washingtonian Magazine, Bourdain sang her praises:

"I love Nigella, tearing off hunks of fatty pork. I was at dinner with Nigella and a bunch of guys, and we were all trying to out-macho each other, like 'I've eaten a live cobra heart!' Nigella has been rubbing her lips and says, 'When I was in Spain, they aborted a pig for me and roasted the fetus. Soooo good."

Here's the show's description from ABC's casting site. The network is looking for people to compete, so get in touch here if you think you have the chops.
