JoAnna Garcia Cast In NBC's 'Animal Practice' And Other Casting News

JoAnna Garcia Lands New NBC Gig

JoAnna Garcia is about to get her "Animal" on. According to TVLine, the actress has landed a leading role in NBC's new workplace sitcom "Animal Practice," airing on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

Garcia will play Dorothy, George’s (Justin Kirk) ex-girlfriend and big boss at the animal hospital. The role was previously Amy Huberman's, but she was let go for creative reasons.

Most recently seen in USA's "Royal Pains," Garcia has also appeared on "Gossip Girl" and starred in "Better With You," "Privileged" and "Reba."

In other casting news...

"True Blood" actor Grant Bowler will co-star in "Liz & Dick." Bowler is set to play Richard Burton opposite Lindsay Lohan in Lifetime's upcoming Elizabeth Taylor Biopic. [THR]

Mason Cook will star as the Eddie Munster figure in the "Munsters" reboot. Cook is set to play the Boy Scout and young werewolf in the one-hour NBC drama. [TVLine]

Anthony Anderson, Tamar Braxton, Trina Braxton, Kim Coles, Robert Forster and Sherri Shepherd are headed to "The Soul Man." The actors will guest star on TV Land's spinoff of "Hot in Cleveland," which is centered on R&B superstar-turned-minister Reverend Boyce “The Voice” Ballentine. [TV Land]

Richard Steinmetz will appear on "General Hospital." The "Passions" vet is headed to the ABC soap as the "son of a former character who will have a big story with Sonny." [SoapOperaWeekly]
