Take the Jefferson Quiz

Interest in Thomas Jefferson never seems to fade. Our third President was a multi-faceted Founder who helped guide the early United States to codify religious liberty and freedom of conscience. Two centuries after Jefferson left the presidency, he is still the subject of competing claims about his public policy and private views, especially on religion and state. Currently, popular Christian speaker David Barton has a new book titled "The Jefferson Lies." In it, Barton claims to debunk false ideas about Jefferson proposed by secularists.

This week, political science professor Michael Coulter and I released an eBook which examines Barton's claims about Jefferson. While not all of them are off, we find many inaccurate and misleading claims which we address in our book, "Getting Jefferson Right: Fact Checking Claims about Our Third President."
