'Kurt Sutter's Outlaw Empires': 'Sons Of Anarchy' Creator Gets New Discovery Series

'Sons Of Anarchy' Creator Lands New Discovery Series

Kurt Sutter hasn't lost it yet: The "Sons Of Anarchy" creator is headed to Discovery, armed with a gang of outlaw empires.

Premiering on Monday, May 14, "Kurt Sutter's Outlaw Empires" centers on how outlaw dynasties like The Crips, Outlaw Bikers, Irish Mob, Nuestra Familia, Italian Mafia and Aryan Brotherhood have helped shape the nation's history.

Not only does the six-episode series offer an inside look at these empires, but it will zoom in on individual lives and stories.

In a statement, Sutter said:

“I've made a career writing about fictitious anti-heroes. To create these worlds, I’ve spent a lot of time with active members on both sides of the law. And if I had to pick the most interesting of the two, the choice is obvious –- we all love the guys in black ... This isn’t about making a judgment call on who's good or bad. As a storyteller, I'm drawn to these personal, intimate accounts of why these men made the choices they made, and what it’s like to be a member of an outlaw organization."

"Kurt Sutter's Outlaw Empires" premieres on Monday, May 14 at 10 p.m. ET on Discovery.
