After years of trying to start a family, Giuliana and Bill Rancic are expecting a baby via a gestational surrogate, E! News confirms.
"We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered," Giuliana said in a statement, with Bill adding, "We are absolutely ecstatic to be sharing this with everyone who has been following our journey."
The couple will welcome their first child this summer, and it's been a long time coming for the pair, who married in 2007. They have been very open about their struggle to have children, and Giuliana was getting ready to start fertility treatments in 2011 when she found out she had breast cancer.
"This baby will have saved my life," Giuliana said on the "Today" show, revealing that a pregnancy could have had a negative effect on her cancer prognosis.
Though her cancer put Giuliana's own pregnancy plans on hold, the couple was adamant they would find a way to have a family together.
"We are definitely having to explore other options," Giuliana said on the "Today" show in early April. "We absolutely want a child. As far as getting pregnant myself, with the medication I'm starting... it's probably not going to happen anytime soon.”
Fans have been able to follow their trials and tribulations on their Style Network TV show, "Giuliana & Bill," which just started its fifth season in April.
