WATCH: Don't Mess With Capone! Dog Defeats Would Be Robber

A would-be thief named Hakim Salone, 34, attempted to rob Empire Jewelry and Loan in Moreno Valley, Calif., but his plans were foiled by a four-legged store employee -- and it was all caught on tape.

Salone entered the establishment after his female accomplice exited and held the door open for him. He was armed and his face was partially covered by a mask when he entered the premises and jumped over the counter, reports the Associated Press. The store was occupied by two employees, Richard Salgado and Melissa Segura, notes LAist.

Salgado wrestled and disarmed Salone with help from Capone, the owner's pet rottweiler.

"I knew this was the right time to take the gun, so I just went for it," Salgado told Press Enterprise. "I knew the gun was the vital part of it, so I wasn’t going to let it go."

The struggle lasted six minutes and Salgado suffered only minor injuries, one being a bite from Capone. The female suspect escaped before police arrived. Salone was books on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping and possession of an illegal firearm. He is a member of a street gang and his criminal affiliations may lead to extended sentencing, reports Press Enterprise.
