Is This The Funniest Newspaper Correction Ever?

Ben Yagoda, author of "About Town: The New Yorker and the World It Made," made a comical error in a New York Times article about commas earlier this week.

He mistakenly wrote that "Charlotte's Web" author E.B. White was a contributor to The New Yorker for five centuries rather than five decades:

Correction: An earlier version of this article misidentified the number of years E.B. White wrote for The New Yorker. It was five decades, not centuries.

Vanity Fair has even written a few parodies of the correction already.

Yagoda humbly explained that the fault was his, not his editors'. Still, we hope this correction is remembered for decades. Or centuries.
