Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Shriver Reconciling? Pair In Couples Counseling: Report

RECONCILING? Pair Reportedly Attending Couples Therapy

Is it time to terminate the divorce talk?

According to unnamed sources, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver have been attending couples therapy in an effort to patch up their relationship, the New York Post reported on Tuesday.

One source told the paper that Shriver's Catholic faith has played a part in her hopes to call off the divorce, though California's former First Lady is "still struggling with the humiliation she endured by him."

Meanwhile, a reportedly repentant Schwarzenegger is pushing for reconciliation -- partly for political expediency, another source claimed.

“Arnold is desperate to win her back, mostly because he realizes he can’t live without her, and partly because he doesn’t have the political clout without her," the source allegedly told the New York Post. "Winning her back would be the best way to show the world he has been forgiven for his transgressions.”

Adding some weight to the rumors, the pair was photographed Tuesday having lunch and shopping for furniture in L.A, TMZ reports -- perhaps for Shriver's new $12.2 million dollar Brentwood home, which she reportedly moved into last week.

This isn't the first time reconciliation rumors have surfaced. In early January, TMZ reported that Schwarzenegger had been photographed wearing his wedding band and that Shriver had also been photographed wearing something -- possibly a wedding band -- on her wedding ring finger. The pair also reportedly spent Christmas together with their children at their Brentwood home.

Shriver filed for divorce in July 2011, almost two months after allegations surfaced that Schwarzenegger had fathered a child with former household staffer Mildred Baena. The pair were married in April 1986 and have four children together.
