Sonja Hinrichsen's 'Snow Drawings' Project Takes Over Field Near Steamboat Springs, Colorado (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

WATCH: 'Snow Drawings' Take Over Colorado

Crop circles? Forget 'em. Why destroy agriculture when there's plenty of snow to be had?

Sonja Hinrichsen, an artist visiting Steamboat Springs from San Francisco, helped create "Snow Drawings" earlier this month on Rabbit Ears Pass. The unique spirals were imprinted into the snow by 10 volunteers on snowshoes.

Steamboat Today adds the work is designed to be impermanent, reflecting "beauty at the whim of Mother Nature." “I’m not so into making art that lasts,” Hinrichsen told the paper. “The world is saturated with manmade projects. I don’t think I need to add more things to the planet.”

Though the snow will eventually melt, Cedar Beauregard of Steamboat Aerials was on hand to record the work. (SEE VIDEO, ABOVE)
