Josh Powell, Father Who Killed Himself And Children In Fire, Had 400 Sex And Incest Photos (VIDEO)

Josh Powell Had 400 Disturbing Images Of Sex & Incest

Despite claiming that he never visited pornography sites depicting minors, three weeks before Josh Powell killed himself and his children in a fire, Utah authorities disclosed that Powell's computer at one time held around 400 images of "cartoon sex and incest," the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

The images were first found when Powell's computer was taken in 2009 as a part of the investigation surrounding the disappearance of his wife, Susan. It was then that psychologist James Manley became "adamant" that Powell not be given custody of his two boys, Charlie, 7, and Braden, 5.

"If these are Mr. Powell’s images, it gives rise to great concern," Manley wrote, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. "Coupled with his general level of defensiveness across the evaluation there seems to be important aspects of Mr. Powell’s life he is unwilling to discuss. ... Until he can overcome his defensiveness and openly discuss himself in all areas of his life including sexuality, family, and healthy boundaries, any additional or change of visit structure is not recommended."

The Associated Press reports a spokesman for the Utah West Valley City Police declined to comment on why it took authorities so long to reveal the information, since Powell had full custody of his children until last summer.

In the last supervised visit between Powell and his sons, the social worker wrote both children were "affectionate with Dad and frequently [hugged] him and [stood] close to him." When saying goodbye, the Seattle Times reports, Powell told them he "loved them very much and would see them as soon as he could."

The next visit, Powell slammed the door in Washington state social worker Elizabeth Griffin-Hall's face, used a hatchet on both children, and set fire to the house. All three died in the flames.
