Ke$ha Talks Becoming An Icon And Destroying Men On A Weekly Basis

Ke$ha: 'I Destroy Men On A Weekly Basis'

It's Ke$ha's mission in life to resurrect rock 'n' roll and take the music industry by storm.

"I have rock 'n' roll pumping through my veins," she tells Glamour, when asked about her the hard rock sound she's embracing on her new album.

The 24-year-old singer hasn't taken the typical road to pop stardom. She's forgone the typical midriff-baring, oversexed Lolita look for neon makeup, studded eyebrows and a reputation as the world's foremost consumer of glitter. In the past she's described her look as "a cross between Keith Richards and a hobo ... a really ridiculously hot hobo."

With the shift from heavily Auto-Tuned pop to rock music, Ke$ha isn't worried about the long-held notion that it's harder for women to succeed in the latter genre.

"I know that I have balls. I have bigger balls than a lot of men I meet," she said. "I'm just a ballsy motherf**ker. I'm not afraid of pushing boundaries. That's what you have to do to become an icon."

Becoming an icon often means carving out a niche for yourself and creating a very distinct identity. So far, Ke$ha has the market cornered, when it comes to beard-loving, blood drinking pop stars who perform on stage with a giant dancing penis. And she claims the Ke$ha we see on stage is very close to her real self.

"I'm just very amused by five-year-old humor. Don't get me wrong: I do destroy men on a weekly basis. It's like a hobby," she said. "I'm like a praying mantis. They f**k me, and then I eat them. But who isn't amused by a giant, dancing penis? Sometimes when I'm sad, I make my assistant put on the penis outfit and bounce around the house."

There are many who write off Ke$ha because of her on-stage gross-out antics, but she's also proven to be a successful songwriter. She co-wrote Britney Spears' 2011 hit, "Till The World Ends," and has also written songs for Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and The Veronicas.

All of it is just a part of her ultimate plan. "Eventually, I would love to be on my deathbed and looked at as an icon," she told Glamour. "Right now I'm still at the baby stages of my career. But that is the goal."
