Angela Lindvall: Style Evolution (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Do You Recognize This Model Turned Host?

Angela Lindvall’s illustrious career, which spans over a decade, is marked by walking in major runway shows such as Christian Dior, Oscar de la Renta and Marc Jacobs, appearing in magazine covers such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and L’Officiel and fronting ad campaigns for Chanel, Hermes and Missoni. Not bad for a girl from Midwest City, Oklahoma.

It only makes sense that her next gig is hosting “Project Runway All Stars,” which came by chance. “I was having dinner with Harvey Weinstein and Georgina Chapman during the Cannes Film Festival, and it just so happened they were looking for a host of Project Runway All Stars!”

Since the show is comprised of the best competitors from eight seasons, it’s eight times more dramatic, hectic and cray-cray. “The eliminations can be sad because you know how bad they want it, how hard they work and how much pressure they are under. In the first episode, one of the designers fainted on the runway during elimination. And a couple of times, Georgina and I almost had tears," lamented Lindvall.

Lindvall, whose personal style has evolved from tomboy to more feminine and colorful, certainly knows her way around clothing. “It’s kind of like fine wine -- once you know the difference, you can’t go back to boxed wine. I’ve worked with some of the most creative people in the business, and worn some of the best things ever made,” explained Lindvall. “I’m not a snob by any means about clothes, but I definitely know the difference between a good fiber and a good cut. I think having less of great items is better than a lot of mediocre items.”

Preach, girl. So then, what does Lindvall think every woman should own? “It’s about having a good basic core, then great accessories. That ‘everything’ dress -- one you can dress up or dress down in beige, black or cream. Black leggings -- they go great with dresses, boots, long shirts and skirts, and are very comfortable. A great poncho or large wrap scarf because they’re so useful, chic and cozy. Jewelry -- a couple pieces can really pull together a look. And definitely shoes, like killer black heels, a great pair of boots and an everyday flat.”

While Lindvall spends her 33rd birthday this Saturday sailing with her family and eating breakfast made by her children (“They usually make the breakfast table very sweet with flowers, candles, a pancake cake and little cards. I love it!”), we took a look back at her best and worst outfits. Be sure to check out her commentary on her past looks -- she cringed at a few of them, just like we did – you’ll see.

Meanwhile, learn how Lindvall and other top celebs get that perfect glow.
