'30 Rock': Jack Seeks Advice From His Baby Daughter

After a much longer than usual break, "30 Rock" (Thu., 8 p.m. EST on NBC) returned to the Peacock's Thursday night lineup. It's a bitter pill to swallow for fans of the network's quirky comedies, as "Rock" nestles into the time slot "Community" has held since 2009. But while one fanbase laments, the other rejoices -- and fans of both feel conflicted.

The show picked up after the holiday break of "TGS," with a wholly different Liz Lemon. She's happy and positive. It's very disconcerting. Meanwhile, Jenna has found tremendous success as the mean judge of a new kid's singing reality show. Ratings are through the roof as she reduces toddlers to tears with her comments. But that was the trouble for Jack, as his own daughter is now nearly one.

Suddenly, there was a conflict between the ruthless executive Jack Donaghy and the new dad Jack Donaghy. So he had a heart-to-heart with his daughter about what was the right thing to do. Some convenient mishearing gave him all the answers he'd wanted to hear all along, and the show would go on with no format changes whatsoever.

Surprisingly, Liz came by her newfound happiness naturally, as part of a dance troupe, and her satisfaction and fulfillment hadn't been shattered by the end of the episode. How long can this possibly last?

Find out as "30 Rock" continues each Thursday at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
