School is back in session all across the country, making now the perfect time to start checking out the latest and greatest children's toys. One device that could soon be jumping to the top of the list of the most innovative and educational toys is the Zubi Flyer, a device that combines the fun of the classic Frisbee with modern technology. The Zubi Flyer is currently in the midst of a KickStarter campaign that could help propel it to being one of the top learning toys for the current generation of kids.

The Zubi Flyer is the brainchild of Kristy Sevy, a mother of three daughters who was growing frustrated with many of the educational toys available for children. So many of the products on the market were either far too advanced for children or far too simple and failed to challenge them to learn something new. She needed something that could teach her kids something she didn't know and also indulge their curiosity.

Sevy knew that it was best to have a product that was hands-on and fit with S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). When she couldn't find anything like that, she partnered with her brother, Kyle Muir, an entrepreneur and manufacturing expert. Together, the siblings founded FUZE Interactive, a company that aims to create toys for kids that combine hands-on play and modern technology to teach high-level concepts. The Zubi Flyer is the company's first product.

Just as Sevy was hoping to create, the Zubi Flyer is a toy that definitely takes advantage of the inquisitive nature of kids. It comes in the shape of a Frisbee disc but also includes electronic elements that require some assembly. Fortunately, kids are able to build it piece by piece by themselves into a device that produces patterns of light and sound, and also includes nine separate games that can be enjoyed by the entire family.

In addition to the games, kids are able to connect the Zubi Flyer to their computer, allowing them to program their own games and light patterns. This makes the Zubi Flyer an introduction in computer programming and a kid's first foray into being an inventor. The Zubi Flyer even comes with a magic wand that can help kids hack into different games, making the experience unlike any other toy they have. Equally important is the fact that the Zubi Flyer can also be used outside as a Frisbee, giving kids a balance between hands-on learning and physical activity.

There is less than three weeks left in Zubi Flyer's KickStarter campaign, and unfortunately FUZE Interactive is still short of its goal. It would be such a shame to see a unique and innovative children's toy fall short of its goal. Sponsoring the Zubi Flyer's campaign can help get the Zubi Flyer into classrooms and households across the country.

A toy like the Zubi Flyer is perfect for this generation of kids and the exact kind of toy that can jumpstart a young person's interest in science, particularly young girls like Sevy's three daughters. Women are often scarce in the fields of science and technology, which is a shame on many levels, and the Zubi Flyer can help to change that in the generations to come.
