- Shall we just jump out of the window and shout it out loud on the Parisian street?

The news arrives around 8pm, Friday night. Finally the wait is over, our dream comes true. Sundance has selected our film: "The Conquerors." Of course, you always dream about it, you imagine thousand times before what you will do at the very moment if it happens, but reality is different.

- Shall we jump out of the window and shout it out loud to the entire world?

But it is impossible - we have to wait two weeks before it will be announced officially. Legs shake as we sit at front of the screen. Reading the email over and over again. Looking at each other. No words. We should feel satisfaction, eternal joy, however emptiness spread out in our veins and strange kind of relief. After 18 months of relentless work, we now see our film carving its way. "The Conquerors" is a brutally dark and pessimistic animated short film about our civilization. Not an ordinary topic. Not an ordinary style. We always felt ourselves outcasts in the animation world. We use no colours, no gags in a medium, which mostly rely on these. 'The Weirdos' - as somebody nicknamed us during the production - has made it.

Around 2am suffering from insomnia we decide to watch "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" again, to pay some respect to Mr. Redford - the feeling you have to thank it to him somehow, but instead we fall asleep slowly during the opening credit...We dream about jumping out of the window and shout it to everybody's face: We are at Sundance!
