Reese Witherspoon's Marriage: Actress Talks About Husband Jim Toth in 'Elle'

Reese Witherspoon: My Husband Is A 'Really Good Person'

Reese Witherspoon is nine months into her marriage with talent agent Jim Toth and loving it.

The Oscar-winning actress opens up about her new hubby in the February issue of Elle, which hits newsstands January 17, singing Toth's praises.

The 35-year-old newlywed -- who said "I Do" in March last year -- told the magazine that she first met Toth, a CAA talent agent, at a friend's party -- when he rescued the actress from a "really drunk guy" who was hitting on her.

"Jim came over and said, 'Please excuse my friend. He's just broken up with someone,'" Witherspoon told Elle. "Jim was a really good friend, pulling him out of that situation. That's just kind of who he is, a really good person."

WItherspoon was previously married to actor Ryan Phillippe but the two split in 2006, amid rumors of hard partying, drugs and infidelity on Phillippe's part. The actress, who has two children from her marriage to Phillippe, mentioned in the September 2011 issue of Marie Claire that she was hard on herself when she got divorced -- and that being a single parent was "difficult."

But things have gone quite differently with her newest husband, who reassured her that things their marriage would work.

"Jim said, I'm gonna show you every day what a good partner is, what a good person is. I'm going to take care of you. I'm gonna do this so much that you're gonna get used to it.'" Witherspoon told Elle. "I was like, 'What are you talking about?' I've never had anybody like that in my life."
