Megyn Kelly Clashes With Kent Sorenson About Campaign Jumping (VIDEO)

Fox News Host Clashes With Bachmann's Campaign Jumper

Host Megyn Kelly clashed with State Senator Kent Sorenson during an interview on her Fox News program on Thursday.

Sorenson, who was an Iowa State co-chair for Michele Bachmann's campaign for the past year, made headlines Wednesday night when he showed up at a Ron Paul campaign event in Iowa and publicly announced that he was switching campaigns to support Ron Paul.

Kelly briefly recounted Sorenson's campaign jump, and attributed one of the reasons for his decision to the fact that Paul had reportedly helped Sorenson campaign when he was running for state senator in 2008. "People are apoplectic now and calling you you disloyal. What say you?" Kelly asked.

"I think you have your facts a little wrong there," Sorenson said. As he began to detail how the people running Paul's campaign had come to his aid when he ran for reelection in 2008, Kelly interrupted.

"I don't want to get too deep in the weeds here on Iowa politics because frankly our viewers don't really care that much about your re-election battle, with all due respect," Kelly said.

Sorenson also denied allegations that he was paid and/or offered money by Paul's campaign to switch his support. During a radio interview earlier on Thursday, Bachmann said that Sorenson had told her he was paid by the Paul campaign to switch campaigns. "I was never offered a nickel," Sorenson told Kelly.
