Christmas Carol Fail: Riser Collapses Underneath Middle School Choir (VIDEO)

WATCH: Riser Collapses Underneath Middle School Choir

In the middle of a Carl Ben Eielson Middle School choir performance at the West Acres Mall in Fargo, North Dakota, the risers which held up the student carolers suddenly collapsed, sending the the students plummeting to the ground.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident, but for all those who appreciate a good Christmas carol fail, it was caught on video.

You can view the surprising moment in the video above.

The risers consist of three steps and are about 2 feet high, Papachek said. They had been used at the mall for at least 13 years. They have already been replaced, he said. The new risers are ready for use but probably won't be employed until the next choir performance, which is set for Monday, he said.

No students were seriously injured in the collapse. Peggy Johnson, an administrative assistant at Carl Ben Eielson told the Duluth News Tribune, "At this point, we're not aware of any severe injuries. Just soreness."

According to WDAY6 News in Fargo, after the incident, the children got back up and finished their performance. Later, the mall hosting the choir "treated the students to a free meal".

Since being posted to YouTube, the video of the incident has spread across the internet. Apparently not much else is going on in Fargo, as this episode was featured as the lead story on a local TV station.
