Report: Schock Eying Gubernatorial Run

Thirty-year-old U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock (R-Ill.) is rumored to be considering a gubernatorial campaign, according to a report published this week.

Schock, Congress's youngest representative, who also earned the distinction of the "hottest freshman" congressman in a The Huffington Post reader poll in 2009, is said by GOP insiders to be contemplating a run for Illinois governor, according to Crain's Chicago Business.

A representative of Schock's, however, told Crain's that the congressman "has not organized any effort beyond representing the people of the 18th District."

Schock has previously criticized current Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn as "out of touch" and called his policies "idiotic," according to WLS report, when it came to the way he responded to Peoria-based company Caterpillar's threat to leave the state because of the increased income taxes the governor supported.

Other Republicans reportedly considering a gubernatorial run include state Sen. Bill Brady, who narrowly lost the 2010 race to Gov. Quinn, state Treasurer Dan Rutherford and state Sen. Kirk Dillard, none of whom, have ever, may the record show, posed shirtless for an internationally-distributed magazine.
