Anthony Angellano, Palos Verdes Dance Teacher, Arrested On Charges Of Sex With Minors

High School Dance Teacher Accused Of Sex With Students

Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department are looking into the possibility that 36-year-old dance teacher Anthony Angellano may have engaged in sexual relations with multiple minors over more than a decade.

Angellano was arrested Monday and charged with five counts of oral copulation with a minor and one count of digital penetration with a minor.

The arrest came after two former Peninsula High School students brought forward allegations of sexual misconduct, according to Palos Verdes Patch.

Police officials said they feared there were more victims because Angellano taught dance at other locations throughout the South Bay.

"We think there might be more victims out there," LAPD Lt. David McGill told Patch.

According to police, two women have come forward to report having sexual relations with Angellano at his Wilmington home. The charges brought against Angellano are related to an alleged relationship with a 16 or 17-year-old girl between 2006-2007.

The second woman alleges she had a sexual relationship with Angellano more than a decade ago, though no charges were filed in this case due to the expired statute of limitations.

Los Angeles Police Capt. William Hayes told Patch that Angellano, an interim teacher and choreo coach, was removed from the classroom on Oct 24.

Angellano was arraigned in Long Beach Tuesday and is currently being held on $350,000 bail. He is expected to appear in court on Dec. 6.

According to KTLA, Angellano is currently on paid administrative leave but his pay will be suspended once he is arraigned, Palos Verdes Unified School District President Bill Franchini told the station.
