Chicago Wind Advisory: Windy Weather Ahead Sunday

Windy Weekend Weather: City Under Wind Advisory Sunday

Hold on to your hats, Chicago: Sunday is anticipated to bring high winds to the area, as the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory covering the Chicago area and northwest Indiana from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Winds gusting as high as 50 mph are anticipated to continue into Sunday, with south winds blowing through the area during the morning. In the afternoon, a cold front will push into the area via southwesterly winds, Patch reports.

The weather service warned that high winds could present a challenge to drivers, particularly those driving larger vehicles, and could cause some minor property damage in the area.

According to the Chicago Weather Center, temperatures throughout the day in the Chicago area are expected to remain in the upper 50s to lower 60s. The relatively balmy November weather should remain in the area through mid-next week, when chillier temperatures are expected to return.

When the city last faced a wind advisory late last month, a large section of the city's lakefront path was closed as high winds created waves as high as 25 feet tall.
