Varla Ventura is the author of The Book of the Bizarre (Weiser Books 2008) and Beyond Bizarre (Weiser Books 2010) and is the curator for the Magical Creatures and Paranormal Parlor e-book collections, resurrecting found and forgotten books of freakery and fun, releasing October 2011 by Weiser Books. She is a lover of all things odd and unusual and truly freaky. Her favorite holiday is Halloween, which she celebrates almost every day.
