Vali Nasr is Dean of Johns Hopkins University's Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, and a non- resident Fellow at Brookings Institution. He is a member of State Department's Foreign Affairs Policy Board. Between 2009 and 2011 he served as Senior Advisor to the Obama Administration on Afghanistan and Pakistan.
