Executive Chef, The Cotton House, Mustique

Tristan Welch is the New Executive Chef for The Cotton House on the island of Mustique. In his new role, Chef Welch will be bringing his creative flair and skill to enhance the guest dining experience at both Verandah restaurant and The Beach Café. His focus will be creating sophisticated menus that highlight sustainably-sourced local produce and seafood, complementing the culture and location of the island by marrying his passionate and inventive style with the exotic flavors of Mustique and traditional Caribbean styles of cooking. A prominent culinary figure in the UK, Chef Welch brings over fifteen years’ experience to his new post at Mustique, including three years as head chef at Gordon Ramsey’s Petrus at The Berkeley, during which time the restaurant received two Michelin stars. He went on to re-launch Launceston Place in Kensington, where he created a modern British menu, received with rave reviews by the critics. Chef Welch began his career with the Award of Excellence from the Academy of Culinary Arts, which recognizes exceptional talent and ambition in young chefs, and has continued to receive accolades ever since, from winning the prestigious Gordon Ramsay Scholarship Award to being recognized by GQ as one of the UK’s ‘Top 100 Most Influential Men’.
