SUZANNE O’MALLEY is the author of the Edgar Award-nominated “Are You There Alone?:” The Unspeakable Crime of Andrea Yates. Andrea Yates is the mentally-ill Houston mom who drowned her five children in the bathtub of their suburban home. O'Malley's discovery of false testimony during the Yates trial resulted in the reversal of the guilty verdict in the death penalty case.

She is an investigative reporter and writer for film, television and stage and has been an editor at Esquire and New York magazines. Her TV screenwriting credits include the Emmy-winning Law & Order. She is a former board member of the Writers’ Guild of America.

O'Malley serves as Associate Director of the Yale Summer Film Institute, is on the Faculty of the Yale Writers' Conference and a Senior Research Associate at the Yale Heart Study.

She co-produced the 2007 documentary Unborn in the USA: Inside the War on Abortion about the 30-plus year offense waged against Roe v. Wade. O’Malley is a member of the Harvard Program in Psychiatry and the Law, PEN, Phi Beta Kappa, WGA, DGA, and SAG.
