Suki Gershenhorn

Fellow, Preservation Detroit

Suki Gershenhorn is a Fellow at the nonprofit organization Preservation Detroit, coming to Detroit from San Francisco in February 2012; but has quickly familiarized herself with the historic structures and neighborhoods that make Detroit such a unique place to be for preservation advocacy and research. She began her preservation career through an internship aiding the physical restoration of historic cabins in California and has since continued to pursue preservation endeavors. Upon graduating from the University of California Santa Cruz, Suki began working at an interior design firm in the Bay Area which specialized in American Arts and Crafts interiors. Simultaneously, she served as a docent and sat as Steering Committee Member at the non-profit San Francisco Architectural Heritage. While excited about the beautiful architectural structures that make Detroit so attractive, she is particularly intrigued by vintage signage throughout the city.
