Human rights advocate and third-year student at Yale Law School

Stephanie Safdi is a third year joint-degree student at the Yale Law School and Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, where she concentrates on intersections of environmental, health, and human rights law. As a member of a team of students from the Allard K. With her team, Stephanie conducted an investigatory field mission in Papua last May, documented in a forthcoming report.

Stephanie has addressed environmental and human rights issues through internships with the Natural Resources Defense Council and Timap for Justice in Sierra Leone and as a fellow with the Harvard Initiative for Global Health. As a Fulbright Fellow in 2008, she helped to establish a public health outreach program with indigenous Israeli Bedouin and has pursued global health issues through the Center for the Study of the Presidency and USAID. At Yale, Stephanie has been Co-President of the Yale Environmental Law Association and Vice-President of the American Constitution Society. Stephanie graduated from Harvard College in 2005 summa cum laude with an A.B. in History and Literature and from Cambridge University in 2006 with an M.Phil in History.
