Sheila Lirio Marcelo

Sheila Lirio Marcelo is the Founder and CEO of Care.com. As the parent of two boys, she knows the challenges of balancing life as a mom in the business world and the difficulties of finding caregivers for her family and home.

After trying to find a nanny for her youngest son, Sheila realized she wasn't the only one running into trouble. To address the problem, Sheila created Care.com, a simple and safe online service connecting families to qualified, local caregivers.

Sheila is passionate about helping others find caregiving arrangements that improve the quality of life for their loved ones and themselves. A leading expert on child care and care planning, Sheila has appeared on NBC’s Today Show, ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS’s The Early Show. She has also been featured in national news outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Parenting, Cookie and Redbook. In 2009, she was selected as one of ten female entrepreneurs to attend the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit.

Sheila resides in the Boston area with her husband, two boys and two dogs.
