Sara Maitland

Sara Maitland was born in 1950 and lives alone on a high moor in South West Scotland. She has published several novels and collections of short stories and various non-fiction titles. She worked with Stanley Kubrick on what later became Spielberg’s film AI. In 2008 she published A Book of Silence, and now, November 2012, From the Forest (both from Counterpoint in the USA) - an investigation into the origins of fairy stories within European forests: the book innovatively includes re-tellings of classic Grimm’s tales for modern readers, as well as a series of walk in British woodlands.
