Richard J. Rosendall is past president of the Gay and Lesbian Activists Alliance of Washington, D.C. He is a columnist for the Washington Blade and Bay Windows. His work has appeared in
Huffington Post, Salon.com, Liberty Education Forum, and Metro Weekly. He co-founded the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington, D.C. in 1981. He became a founding member of the NAACP-DC Police Task Force in 1997. He was named a Community Pioneer by the Rainbow History Project in 2009 and received an award for Outstanding Service from The DC Center for the LGBT Community in 2011. He won an Excellence in Journalism Award from the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association in 2015, taking third place in Opinion/Editorial Writing for his December 2014 commentary, "Cutting Holes in the Law."
