Rev. Vicki Flippin

The Rev. Vicki Flippin currently serves as the Pastor of Social Justice, Exploring Faith, and Inter-generational Ministries at the United Methodist Church of the Village in the West Village of New York City. A graduate of Yale Divinity School (2008) and the University of Chicago (2005), Flippin is Co-President of the Board of Directors of the national United Methodist progressive caucus, the Methodist Federation for Social Action. She has also served for many years as secretary on the steering committee of Methodists in New Directions and considers LGBTQ equality and racial justice as central to her ministry. A proud signer and clergy recruiter for the Covenant of Conscience, she is committed to the practice of marriage equality in the United Methodist Church. She is a member of her conference’s 2016 Jurisdictional/General Conference delegation and is both a sought after preacher and blogger. Flippin has close ties to both Taiwan and the American Midwest and lives in New York with her husband and daughter. In July of 2016, she will join the staff of St. Paul and St. Andrew United Methodist Church as Pastor of Youth and New Communities, where a part of her role will be to start new progressive churches in New York City.
