Randy Turner is a retired middle school English teacher. Before moving into education, he served as an editor and reporter for Southwest Missouri newspapers, earning more than 130 national, state, and regional awards, inclluding 40 for investigative reporting. He is the author of seven non-fiction books, including Let Teachers Teach, and three novels, including No Child Left Alive. His most recent book is Silver Lining in a Funnel Cloud: Greed, Corruption, and the Joplin Tornado. Turner is also the publisher of the Turner Report blog, which covers politics, education, and breaking news about Missouri and the nation.
