Pia de Jong

Novelist and columnist

Pia de Jong is a Dutch novelist who moved from Amsterdam to Princeton NJ in the summer of 2012. Her novels include Lange dagen (Long Days), Prometheus 2008, translated into Italian; Verso Nord, Elliot, which won the Flemish Golden Owl award from the readers, and Dieptevrees (Fear of Depths) Prometheus, 2010. She won several prizes for her short stories and poems.



Among her contributions are columns for the Financiële dagblad, (The Financial Daily). She currently writes a weekly column for the Dutch newspaper NRC, called Flessenpost (Notes in a Bottle) about her life in the USA.
