Entrepreneur and journalist

Peiran Wei is an entrepreneur based in Beijing. In his early career, he worked for Bloomberg and Reuters as a journalist in the greater China region and covered a wide range of areas, including technology, finance, consumer sectors and ultra-high net worth individuals. Peiran also reported on the Beijing Olympics, Shanghai Expo, China’s annual National People’s Congress and the World Economic Forum. After obtaining a masters of public administration from Harvard Kennedy School, he returned to China in early 2016, launching China’s first location-based service mobile application that feeds readers with news based on their exact location. He has won several international journalism awards, including the George Polk Award, Overseas Press Club Award, The Society of American Business Editors and Writers Award and Asia Society Osborn Elliot Prize for Excellence in Journalism on Asia. Peiran also has a Master's degree in international communications from Peking University.
