Nour Akkad

Freelance Writer and Researcher

Nour Akkad - whose name should really be Nour Akkad Kasm, but she has yet to legally take her husband's last name -- is a freelance writer and researcher. She was formerly an Associate Blog Editor for The Huffington Post. Akkad started her journalism career at ABC's World News Tonight; she then moved over to National Public Radio, where she researched, booked, and produced segments for the NPR show News and Notes.

Akkad graduated cum laude from George Mason University after studying international politics and economics. She was born in Damascus, Syria, raised in New York City and Fort Smith, Arkansas (yes, Arkansas), studied in Washington D.C., and now resides in Los Angeles. She's very good with accents.
