Mike Sandler

Political economist, climate change professional, sustainability advocate

Mike Sandler is a climate change and sustainability professional with experience working for nonprofits and government. In 2001 Mike co-founded the Center for Climate Protection based in Sonoma County, California. Non-profits he worked at include Community Clean Water Institute, California Interfaith Power & Light. He assisted local governments in reducing greenhouse gas emissions while at the Sonoma County Regional Climate Protection Authority. Inspired by Peter Barnes and Richard Douthwaite, he spent several years advocating for revenues in the carbon market mechanisms of California’s Global Warming Solutions Act to be returned back to the public as a per capita dividend or share.
