In 2010, after 29 years with ABC News in Washington, D.C., editor and technical director, Mike Kravinsky embarked on a new career in narrative film-making. Although much of what he learned creatively, technically and working on deadlines on shows like 20/20, Primetime Live and Good Morning America were transferable to narrative films, there was still a substantial learning curve to go from reality to fiction. He continues to learn with each production and collaboration. His previous feature, Geographically Desirable, is a story of personal priorities. Kravinsky wrote, directed and edited this romantic comedy. Geographically Desirable screened at several festivals, including the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and the NYC Independent Film Festival. It’s won several awards, including Audience Awards at both The Richmond International Film Festival and Washington, D.C.'s Reel Independent Film Festival. It was also honored with a Best Screenplay award at the Indie Capitol Awards. Kravinsky’s current feature, Nothing To Do, was a finalist at Cinequest Screenplay Competition in San Jose and an Honorable Mention at the TrackingB Screenplay Competition in Los Angeles. For Kravinsky, fiction has now become a way to continue his growth as a storyteller.
