Matt Stiner

Director of Justice for Vets

Matt Stiner is a fourth generation Marine, a combat veteran of the Iraq War, who also served as a Marine Combat Instructor of Water Survival and Green Belt Martial Arts Instructor. Following his honorable discharge from the service, Stiner was awarded the Harry S. Truman Scholarship and attended the University of Oklahoma. In 2008, Stiner helped create the nation’s third Veterans Treatment Court in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has since helped create Veterans Treatment Courts throughout the United States as the Director of the Washington, DC based nonprofit Justice For Vets. He is the former Director of Veterans Affairs in Tulsa Mayor’s Office and has served on numerous committees including the Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin’s Veterans Affairs Transition Team and U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe’s Veterans Task Force. Stiner’s work in the City of Tulsa concerning military and veterans affairs programs is considered one of top three “best practices” in the nation among municipalities in the United States, according to the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
