Mary Johnson, author of "An Unquenchable Thirst: A Memoir," was a nun in the community founded by Mother Teresa for 20 years. After leaving the Missionaries of Charity in 1997, Johnson has become a respected teacher and public speaker on issues of meaning and secularism. She has been widely published, including in The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, O the Oprah Magazine, Bloomberg View, National Public Radio.
She is a Fellow of the MacDowell Colony and serves on the board of the A Room of Her Own Foundation. She lives in New Hampshire.
