Mary Anne Erickson

Artist, photographer, graphic artist, and author with a passion for our vanishing American roadside culture

Mary Anne Erickson, artist, photographer, graphic artist, and author graduated from Art Center College of Design in 1973. She lived New York City for 20 years where she worked for major publications including The New York Times and New York Magazine, publishing houses and record companies. A landscape painter most of her life, she works in watercolor and oils. The past 35+ years she has focused much of her attention on documenting the icons of our vanishing American roadside. In 1993 Mary Anne and husband Richard Erickson opened Blue Mountain Bistro restaurant in Woodstock, New York to rave reviews by critics and diners. In 2007 they changed locations and opened Bistro-to-Go in Kingston, New York. Here Mary Anne has created an environment where "Every Day is a Celebration" sharing her love of life with residents of the Hudson Valley. Her artistic sensibility infuses everything she does from orchestrating elegantly catered events for hundreds of guests to painting alone in her bucolic Woodstock studio. She and Richard are currently working on a cookbook which celebrates their legacy and collaboration with farmers the Hudson Valley.
