Margaret Stone

President, Veterans Healing Initiative

Margaret Stone is chairman and president of Veterans Healing Initiative, a nonprofit organization based in Greenville, SC that provides veterans access to treatment for substance abuse and trauma (www.vetshealing.org). Founded in 2009, VHI also works to expand the clinical network available to treat veterans for addiction and trauma-related issues.

Prior to founding VHI, Ms. Stone was founder and president of Chiron Advisors, Inc., an executive-search firm focused exclusively on the financial services industry. Prior to establishing Chiron in 1999, Ms. Stone spent nearly 10 years in the financial services executive-search industry. She began her career at McFarland Dewey & Co., a mergers-and-acquisition advisory firm based in New York.

Ms. Stone earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Columbia University. She is the former chairman of the Blessed Sacrament Church Parish Council in New York and is a former board member of Caron New York, a leading nonprofit provider of alcohol and substance-abuse treatment. In 2007, she created Susannah’s Fund to provide sponsorship funding for teens and young adults in need of addiction treatment. Ms. Stone has participated five times in the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, a two-day, 200-mile cycling fundraiser that supports the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund.
