Kimberly Tan is a student at Stanford University. Originally from San Jose, California, she is passionate about social justice and policymaking issues and uses writing as a platform to voice her beliefs. She has been blogging for The Huffington Post for over two years and is also an Opinions Columnist for The Stanford Daily. On campus, she is highly involved in Stanford in Government, an organization dedicated to promoting policy engagement, and the Stanford Undergraduate Economics Journal.

Kimberly was the official representative of 23,000 youth in San Jose City Council, where she gave the State of the Youth Address and worked to ensure that youth voices were being properly represented in the legislative process. She was also the President of her high school speech and debate team and founded Overture Literary Magazine, a magazine that fostered literary talent and creative growth in young Bay Area students. In her free time, she loves chatting with friends, trying new restaurants, and reading random Wikipedia articles.
