Jon Gensler

Project Developer, Borrego Solar; Truman National Security Fellow; Iraq veteran

Mr. Jon Gensler is a Project Developer working out of Borrego Solar’s regional headquarters in Lowell, Mass. and a satellite office in Brooklyn, N.Y. Jon’s primary focus is to develop solar power installations in the federal market place, with special attention focused on the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. He has spent the past several years focusing his career on the intersection of climate change, energy policy, and national security, and has been an active member of the veteran’s advocacy group Operation Free and leads the Truman National Security Project’s National Energy Experts Group. Prior to joining Borrego Solar, Jon held positions with Lutron Electronics and the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E). He is a LEED® Accredited Professional, and a veteran of the Iraq War, where he led an infantry mortar platoon. Jon holds degrees from the United States Military Academy at West Point, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management, and Harvard University’s John F Kennedy School of Government.
