Jensine Larsen

Founder and CEO, World Pulse, social media entrepreneur, global women’s empowerment activist

For over a decade, Jensine (Yen-See-Nah) has made it her job to listen to women on the ground around the world. At age 28 she founded World Pulse –- an online action media network bringing women a global voice -– after working as a freelance journalist covering indigenous movements and ethnic cleansing in South America and Southeast Asia. Today 50,000 women from more than 190 countries are connecting and speaking out through World Pulse, including those using Internet cafes and cell phones from rural villages and conflict zones. Next, Jensine launched an acclaimed digital media and citizen journalism training program for grassroots women from some of the most remote regions of the world. With her finger on the pulse of women’s voices globally, Jensine is a frequent speaker on how social media and technological innovation is a powerful accelerator for women’s global empowerment.
