Opera singer, writer, administrator and arts advocate

Two time Grammy nominee Jennifer Rivera has performed leading roles with opera companies on five continents including the Berlin Staatsoper, the Teatro Regio di Torino, The Innsbruck Festival and the Dallas Opera among many others. She was selected as the "Debut Artist of the Year" at the New York City Opera and won a Helpmann Award (Australia's Tony Award) for outstanding female performer in 2015 for "Faramondo" with Brisbane Baroque. She has created leading roles in three world premieres ("Elmer Gantry", "The Golden Ticket" and "Becoming Santa Claus") and can be heard on recording as Nerone in "Agrippina" for Harmonia Mundi and Penelope in "Il Ritorno D'Ulisse" for Linn Records (both Grammy nominees for Best Opera Recording) as well as her solo recording "Innocence / Experience" with Roven Records. Jennifer Rivera has served as the Director of Artistic Development at the Center for Contemporary Opera since 2015, and has been writing and blogging for the Huffington Post since being selected as Best Arts Blogger in Spring For Music's Arts Blogger Challenge in 2012.
